Am I growing, changing?

I wouldn’t know.

Sure, I am different

from who I was before,

but, I am also

exactly who I was

three years ago.

A little less of some things,

and a little more of more.

In aspects we change,

in aspects we grow,

learning as we go.

I have learned

how all of us

are just “unsatisfied creative souls”

creating our own gardens of expression,

and I found mine in this form.

I have learned

to like “Times New Roman, 12”

over “Calibri, 11” or “Merriweather, 10”.

A matter of transmitted habit

that I have inculcated,

“double spacing with indentation”.

I have learned

to embrace the balance.

The good, the bad, the better.

Hopefully learning to think

beyond the obvious binaries.

I have learned

to enjoy the liminal stage,

neither here nor there,

in the nothingness of everything.

I have learned

to be social.

Well, I am learning still.

And I have learned

to embrace the aloneness

as separate from loneliness.

I have learned to become

a critically appreciating cheerleader.

With emphasis on “appreciating”.

I have learned to believe

in the construct of 11:11.

To give me a moment of hope each day.

To be my muse each day.

I have learned

to see the whole

as greater than the sum of its parts.

And, not solely as a Gestalt’s principle,

but as a principle of life.

But,

I have also learned

to enjoy the little things.

The auto ride back home

after a tiring day

when that one beat drop in the song plays.

The sunday night thukpa meals

following the little long walks.

The ice cream for when I achieve something,

the ice cream for when I feel down,

And the Snickers for comfort

and momentary happiness.

And, seeing 11:11 on 24th May, 23

while my favourite song played on shuffle.

I have learned a lot

and there is so much, yet, left to imbibe.

20?

I’m not feeling it now.

Did the clock striking 12 make any difference?

or is “20” another series of learning and unlearning

and growing as we go?
